The new concept was a success (Final Report)

This year, the PRAGOALARM fair probably underwent the most radical transformation in its twenty two year history. Although the fundamental change in communication and promotion, increased quality and scope of the accompanying program, bonuses for exhibitors and targeted orientation on the professional visitors -- especially from the ranks of project designers, builders, the municipal sphere as well as owners and managers of properties -- did not result in tens of thousands of visitors, it did bring a specific and high quality structure of potential customers for the exhibiting companies. The positive feedback by leading companies and professional partners as well as the success of the brand new PRAGOSMART smart living section represent a solid foundation and large potential for the traditional fair’s successful growth in future years.

On June 5 - 7, 2012, the Exhibition Grounds in Prague, Holešovice, became a meeting place for professionals and business owners not just from the construction industry. 64 exhibitors presented themselves at the fair under the “Security will save you money” motto and offered visitors comprehensive services and effective solutions for security & savings. The exhibition dedicated to the security, fire protection and intelligent technologies of buildings also hosted several conferences and seminars, which featured the common denominator of the search for savings in the area of safety and security in companies, in industrial and office buildings as well as in public authority and residential buildings. A total of 2 066 visitors made it to the professional fair.

The accompanying program was dedicated mainly to new trends in safety solutions and also covered the issue of corruption and effective savings in the specification of tenders. In the lecture hall, experts debated the current trends in the fire protection of buildings as well as in the issue of the mechanical and electronic securing of residential and office buildings. Employees of city and municipal crisis authorities took away from the accompanying conference interesting tips for the effective security and protection of citizens, and the security managers of companies participated in a critical debate on the reliability and effectiveness of security systems.

The Advisory Center offered inspiration, advice and basic information on the options in security, protection, and prevention along with an overview of products, services and solutions available on the Czech market to owners of residential buildings, representatives of housing cooperatives, owners’ associations, company owners and other investors who in recent years are dealing in large numbers with the modernization, more effective operations and security of their buildings and property. TheAdvisoryCenter was held under the auspices of the Ministry of the Interior of the CR and the entire project was thematically closely linked to the fair’s accompanying program.

Most exhibitors see their participation in the fair as positive.

“The exhibition is behind us, and even though the real benefits for our company can only be evaluated after the passing of some time, I can state already today that this exhibition was successful for SIEMENS! The fair’s new concept, which was prepared also in partnership with AGA, proved to be  viable. The traditional independent fair in the field of security proved that it has its place on the market and that there is still interest in it among the experts. The visits by many journalists, as well as the participation of Czech Television, were also encouraging news. Interest in information, new knowledge and technologies from our field was considerable at the fair.” said Milan Ceeh, Director of the FSS Department, Building Technologies Division, SIEMENS, s.r.o.

And there is more positive feedback. “If we are to evaluate the exhibition after such a short time, we can state that the organizer’s efforts came to fruition as the organization of the exhibition, including the accompanying program and facilities for the visitors, was successful. After a slower start on the first day of the exhibition, the number of visitors, mainly professionals, was actually quite good,“ said Jiří Würtherle, the Sales Director of VARIANT plus.

Also the partners of the fair from the PRAGOSMART exposition were satisfied. “We would like to thank INCHEBA Praha for organizing the first independent PRAGOSMART exposition on smart living. I must say on behalf of the exhibitors that everything was prepared perfectly. PRAGOSMART allowed us to not only introduce our innovations, but also to meet our partners and competitors. We also appreciate the relatively high participation rate at the conference, which was attended by over 50 participants. We hope that we will be able to establish the tradition of a professional exhibition focused on all aspects of smart living. We look forward to next year,” says the Chairman of the Board of INSIGHT HOME Jan Průcha.

“Considering the perception of the fair’s focus and the Pragoalarm name, the attendance at our PRAGOSMART exposition was quite decent, as especially the partners and customers that we targeted specifically arrived. In future years I recommend highlighting the “smart living exhibition”, perhaps even within the complete promotion and name of the fair. We will definitely consider attending again in future years,” reviewed on behalf of ABB Jan Provazník.

The company PHOBOS provided a statement by Vladimír Šiška: “We are happy that we were able to participate in the PRAGOALARM 2012 fair, because from our point of view it was the best edition. The exhibition was not large, which we expected, but the composition of visitors was professionally knowledgeable and targeted. The fact that the exhibition was independent and not burdened by random visitors of parallel events with completely different interests also certainly contributed to this.“

“We were very satisfied with the organizers’ approach. We also positively evaluate the preparatory period where the professional public was acquainted with the goal and program of the fair and was also regularly informed about news. During the fair we registered a satisfactory number of expert visitors from the area of electronic security systems. As a result we fulfilled our fundamental participation goal, which was introducing our new JABLOTRON 100 alarm to customers especially from the ranks of assembly technicians and security desk operators. We are looking forward to the 20th anniversary event,” says Alan Fabík, Director of Sales of JABLOTRON ALARMS.
